Christian Books

How do you get Christian books direct from the right source? Christian books come in all kinds of styles, shapes, sizes and viewpoints. We'll give you some straight advice to get you going in your hunt for the right Christian book. Whether you are a book collector, student of Christianity or just a casual reader, you can find a great Christian book at an equally great price if you just know how to look - and where to look. Even though the Internet makes it much easier to find books, we could all benefit from a few nudges in the right direction, right?

First, we'll talk to those of you who are looking for rare or out-of-print books by or about Christians. You should be careful as you search the Web or even in your area for special Christian tomes (isn't that a nice old-fashioned word for books?). If you have to, check with the Better Business Bureau and find out all the dirt you can, if there is any, about a given bookseller. Make sure you know who you're going to be dealing with! Next, inspect each book carefully if you can, looking for all the proper characteristics that ought to be in place before you make your purchase (edition number, pages and cover condition, lack of internal markings, etc.). Finally, search the Web for updated information on used Christian volumes.

Now, if you're looking for new Christian books, check out Amazon and Barnes and Noble for starters. Also Alibris and BookFinder.com. After checking out some of these major online booksellers, you can also search for bookstores in your area that you can visit personally to browse for books.

Our final tip is to read all you can about Christianity. The more you learn, the better. Finding quality books may be easier if you consult a reputable Christian near you who knows of important books you can read about Christianity.
